Robert Snelson is the Territorial Worship Arts Publications Director for The Salvation Army’s Southern Territory. In this position, he provides direction to the annual music publications of the Southern Territory, including collections of band (American Instrumental Ensemble Series, American Instrumental Solo Series, and Southern Brass) and vocal music (Sing Praise and Children’s Praise).
Robert is the leader of the Southern Staff Songsters, which is the premier songster brigade for the Southern Territory. The group, made up of singers from around the territory, travels around the territory and beyond, ministering through music. He is also the Songster Leader at the Gwinnett County (Georgia) Corps. As a Salvationist music leader, he has had the opportunity to lead various corps and divisional band and vocal ensembles throughout the territory and has been a guest instructor at several territorial music camps around the world.
As a composer and arranger, Robert has had several arrangements published by The Salvation Army's Southern Territory in the American Instrumental Ensemble Series, Sing Praise, and Children's Praise and has also written arrangements specifically for Commissioning and other Salvation Army events.
Robert and his wife, Jill, live in Tucker, Georgia, with their two children, Abigail and Isaac.
