TMI Majors

Every delegate will sign up for a major class which will meet for two periods each day. See below for brief descriptions of each major. In addition to your major class, every delegate will be in a chorus and an elective class. The only exceptions to this are the Leadership Classes, as described on the Elective page.

Brass Band
Brass Band majors will audition into one of the four bands. In these bands, you will spend extensive time in rehearsals where you will learn new repertoire, further your instrumental technique, and grow as a Chrisitan musician.

Dance
Dance majors will audition into one of two dance classes where they will develop their basic dance skills as well as learn chorography for group dance performances.

Piano
Piano majors will receive individualized instruction in piano. In these classes, you will sharpen your piano skills for use in your home corps (church).

Theater
Theater majors will audition into one of the four theater classes. They will work on acting skills in a large group setting as well as spending time in their smaller classes where they will learn scripts and refine their skills on stage.

Theater Tech
Theater Tech majors will learn a variety of skills that are used to support the work of a theater presentation such as audio, lighting, and stage management. These same skills are also vital to supporting a worship service.

Worship Team
Worship Team majors will audition into one of the four worship teams. These worship teams will work on songs which they will use to lead the TMI delegation in worship during the week. They will develop their musical skills as well as learning about how this music supports worship at their corps.

Worship Arts Skills
We use many skills in our efforts to support worship in our Corps and Divisions through the Worship Arts. This major class is a 10,000 ft overview of many of these worship arts skills. Each class period will spend time in training delegates to be proficient in the following skillsets so they can help make Sunday worship run more smoothly in their home corps:

  • Worship Team instrument training and Leadership

  • Audio Engineering

  • Graphic and Media support

  • Worship Planning

  • Live Stream Production

Whether aspiring worship leaders, technicians, or creative directors, students will be empowered to contribute effectively to the worship life of their home corps. While many students may come from the worship team program, this course is open to anyone interested in developing these skills.

Please note that this is a non-performing major. This class will not perform on the preview or final concerts.
