Kellyn Mylechreest is a New York City and Philadelphia-based dancer, choreographer, and movement educator with a passion for arts ministry within the Salvation Army. She is a Doctoral Student in Dance Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and holds her M.F.A. in Choreography from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and her B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. As an educator, Kellyn works as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dance at Queens College and also serves as a teaching artist with New York City Ballet and Alvin Ailey’s Arts in Education Programs. She has worked with companies such as Twyla Tharp, Linked Dance Theatre, Houseworld Immersive, Blue Morph Collective, City Lyric Opera, FIT Dance Company, and more. She has written two dance curriculums, “The Dance Collective” and “KéKay Method” which are used by studios and church programs across the U.S. Kellyn’s mission, as an artist, is to make dance training as inclusive and accessible for students of all ages and backgrounds, and for people to experience the love of Jesus through dance as an expression of worship. She is a Senior Soldier in the Eastern Territory in the Pendel Division with her husband Edward and their 4-year-old pup, Millie.
