Josh Powell is a fourth-generation Salvationist, and loves every aspect of the music and creative arts ministries of the Salvation Army.  He graduated with a BA in Psychology from Asbury College in 2008 and finished an MA in Religion from Liberty University in 2011. 

As the Contemporary Music Specialist for the Territorial Music and Gospel Arts Department, his passion is promoting the development of quality, distraction-free worship through contemporary music.  On any given day, this could be done by producing any of the great music resources published by the Southern Territory, creating new resources for training worship teams, or leading transMission in modeling contemporary worship inside and out of the Southern Territory. 

When not working, Josh loves spending time with his beautiful wife Melissa, his three children Ben, Olivia, and Judah.  He is an avid fan of all Atlanta sports. #RiseUp
